Admissions Requirements

VH Barber & Styling Academy reviews applications and admits students on a monthly basis. The following process must be followed by students seeking admission:

Complete a VH Barber & Styling Academy Student Enrollment Application packet at the school. Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form to apply for financial aid for school by clicking the link below. Enter VH Academy’s Federal School Code: 042489 on your FAFSA. Application packets are accepted on a continuous basis. A completed application packet includes:

1. Completed student application/data form (provided when you bring your documents for enrollment)
2. Copy of birth certificate or other government issued identification
3. Copy of Social Security Card
4. High school diploma or passing grade on equivalence test (GED) and Barber license for the Barber Instructor course
5. Two 2 x 2 inch photographs of the student
6. State issued identification

Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Reporting- Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students

CARES Act HEERF Disbursement Report
Due to COVID-19, the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) was established to provide funding to institutions to provide emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives have been disrupted, many of whom are facing financial challenges and struggling to make ends meet.

Certification and Agreement Acknowledgement
VH Barber & Styling Academy (VH Academy) has signed and returned the Certification and Agreement to the US Department of Education with the assurance that GPTC has used no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Methods Used to Determine Which Students Receive Aid and How Much
The method used by VH Academy to determine which students received Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act: VH Academy determined that distribution criteria to all eligible post-secondary students attending approved programs as of 3/20/2020. Instructions given to students: use VH Academy COVID-19 Emergency Assistance grant application.

VH Academy, in accordance with federal guidelines, established a plan to promptly and equitably assist students with the greatest need through the Federal CARES Act Assistance Grant. Students are awarded from the funds based on completion of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Grant application available on campus at 1701 Old Minden Rd. Suite 19, Bossier City, LA 71111 or via email at request. Students must meet the following eligibility requirements in order to access the application:

Eligibility Requirements

Currently enrolled Barber Stylist students that met on campus prior to the transition to distance education.
Eligible to receive federal financial aid.
Meeting SAP
Able to provide documentation of their financial hardship
The application assists the VH Academy in prioritizing student need by allowing students to indicate financial hardship caused by the disruption to campus operations and the changes in the delivery of instruction due to COVID-19. Provided that the students were eligible to receive these funds and based on the individual student’s circumstances and needs as indicated on the HEERF/CARES application, CARES grants were approved, with an average award amount of $1,269 per student.

In accordance with the regulations and available guidance, grant funds are being paid directly to students and not towards outstanding student account balances. The awards provided through the fund are to assist students with expenses related to the disruption of campus operations and the changes in the delivery of instruction due to COVID-19, including cost of attendance items such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare.

Instructions on completing the COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Grant application and guidance regarding student eligibility were provided by VH Academy to all students through numerous channels of communication:
